On thursday, April 24st 2002, I was visiting HRC Munich again. It would become a night of real Hard Rock...
I met with some pin collectors to trade a few pins and to chat about the HRCs. Also I had my pictures of the HRC Munich Grand Opening party (click here for my special report) with me to show them to the collectors and the staff. They were all pretty excited about the pictures and my report here on JBs HRC World. I traded a coupld of pins and it was a great evening. Ahmad, our server, took really good care of us.
But the big event was about to come later. BONFIRE, a well known german Hard Rock Band, was about to perform on stage at HRC Munich. I knew Bonfire from various concerts. They were supporting acts to bands like ZZ Top and Judas Priest.
When the concert started the HRC was pretty packed with Hard Rockers from all over. Bonfire was performing unplugged. I had mixed feelings about it when I heard it first. "A Hard Rock band performing unplugged ?"I thought. But it was just brilliant.
To me it seems that HRC Munich is a great place for a live concert in an intimate setting. I really enjoyed the performance of Bonfire at me new "local Hard Rock Cafe".
After the concert the band presented a guitar signed by all band members to HRC Munich GM John - and also a leather jacket worn by frontman Claus Lessmann.
After the concert the band stayed for another hour at the HRC so people could take pictures with them, get autographs and chat with the band.
In my opinion it was a great night and I really look forward to more concerts at HRC Munich. Check out www.hardrock.com for upcoming events/concerts at HRC Munich.
